F.A.Q
1. Store & Serving
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY BOTTLES?
Ideally, bottles should be stored in a horizontal position, ensuring that the liquid remains in contact with the cork. We recommend storing our bottles in a dark place maintained at a consistent temperature between 12° C and 15°C (53.6°F and 59°F), in a dry and neutral (without odors) place. The wine contained in transparent bottles is sensitive to light. We recommend you store it away from light, protect it or let the bottle inside the packaging.
If you have any other questions or complaints about a product, please get in touch with us: Contact us | Perrier-Jouët Worldwide (perrier-jouet.com)
HOW LONG SHOULD I KEEP A BOTTLE?
The optimal ageing period depends on the vintage and storage conditions, but as a rule of thumb, you can follow these guidelines:
If your champagne is not vintage, we recommend opening it for your next occasion to benefit from the freshness and floral notes of the cuvée or keeping it for three years in good storage conditions (at consistent temperature between 12° C and 15°C (53.6°F and 59°F) and in a dry and neutral place (without odours).
If it is a vintage, you may keep it in good storage conditions for up to fifteen years or even more if the vintage year is known to be exceptional and the bottle has been kept in perfect conditions. Ageing duration may be extended for larger bottles

3. Art & History
WHAT IS ART NOUVEAU?
Art Nouveau was an international movement, known as Modernista in Spain, Jugendstil in Germany, Secession in Austria and Slovenia, Stile Liberty in Italy and – after the name of one of its exponents – Tiffany in the United States.
It rose to prominence in Barcelona and Brussels in the late 1880s thanks to the work of pioneering architects like Antoni Gaudi and Victor Horta, and went on to influence all visual arts, especially the decorative arts.
Art Nouveau spread rapidly throughout Europe – in France it was propagated by Emile Gallé’s Ecole de Nancy – before declining in 1914, with the outbreak of World War I. As fleeting as it was, this stylistic adventure – a reaction to the excesses of industrialisation – struck a chord: Art Nouveau offered extraordinary liberty, a joyous creative spirit and a comforting sense of enchanting possibility.
The emphasis on craftsmanship and attention to detail in Art Nouveau parallels the craftsmanship and attention that we, at Perrier Jouët, put into our champagne-making process
WHO WAS EMILE GALLÉ?
Emile Gallé was one of the founders of the Art Nouveau movement. In 1902 he was commissioned by the House to design the Perrier-Jouët bottle, featuring the Japanese Anemones. This design has become world famous and still graces the bottles of our prestige cuvée, Belle Epoque.
Today, Perrier-Jouët is the owner of the largest private collection of French Art Nouveau in Europe
WAS NATURE A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR ARTISTS OF BELLE EPOQUE?
The elegant embellishments of Art Nouveau emerged as a response to the industrial age's graceless shapes, with artists seeking solace in the natural world's organic forms. Flowers, plants, insects, and animals all became subjects of artistic exploration, their shapes and structures influencing the intricate designs of the era. Perrier-Jouët, deeply rooted in this period, similarly draws inspiration from nature, evident in the Art Nouveau anemone design of its Cuvée Belle Epoque
4. Sustainable Practices
WHY DID MAISON PERRIER-JOUËT CREATE A NEW GIFT-BOX COLLECTION?
At Maison Perrier-Jouët, we have always been driven by our love of nature. Our decision to introduce sustainable practices in our gift-box collection reflects our ongoing commitment to take sincere, ethical, and lasting actions to minimize our impact on the environment.
The pared-back design minimizes ink consumption, while the matte finish eliminates the need for varnish, making the boxes fully recyclable and easy to recycle. Additionally, they are nearly 30% lighter than previous versions, reducing carbon emissions during transportation. Furthermore, our eco-designed shipping cases for champagne delivery are made from a combination of recycled and grass paper, furthering our sustainability efforts.
WHAT MATERIALS ARE USED IN THE GIFT-BOX COLLECTION AND WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Our sustainable gift boxes are made from 100% natural fibers responsibly sourced from certified sustainable forests in Northern Europe.
They are proudly designed and crafted in France. By keeping production local, we not only ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship but also support our community and reduce our carbon footprint.
WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE DESIGN?
The pure, matte white aesthetic is inspired by the chalky subsoil of the Champagne wine region, embellished with an embossed anemone motif recalling the emblematic flower of the House, designed by French Art Nouveau pioneer Emile Gallé in 1902
