The eye
A pale, translucent gold, with radiant clarity and subtle glints of apple green.
The nose
Fresh and delicate, with distinctive aromas of white fruit and flowers.
The palate
An exceptional combination of freshness and finesse.
I associate Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque with white orchids, which also happen to be my favourite flower. For me, this cuvée has the same combination of grace and elegance, delicacy and vibrancy, as well as the taut, structured quality of a white orchid.

Heritage

Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque is the original Belle Époque vintage cuvée, first appearing in 1964. Instantly recognisable throughout the world, its bottle is adorned with the graceful spray of Japanese white anemones created for Maison Perrier-Jouët by Art Nouveau master Emile Gallé in 1902.

The moment

This prestigious cuvée pairs naturally with noble ingredients: king prawns with creamy polenta, sole meunière, Parmesan or Comté cheese.

Charming and expressive, bursting from the glass with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, pear, white flowers and subtle hints of buttered toast. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and fine-boned, its pretty core of fruit is girdled by succulent acids, concluding with a delicately chalky finish.
